What I do when I’m tired (BevyKonf)

Most of my ideas for software and likewise, just comes to mind when I’m really goddamn tired. Like now. I’m REALLY tired right now, and I have a fever (probably, at least), and I’ve been spåning (that’s what we say in sweden, we ‘spånar på ideér’, ‘spooning on ideas’ – a rough translation. Really rough. [...]

More Information (Battlefieldo.com Forum Post) >>

That is the instructional video. I’ve been away pretty much since the release so I haven’t been able to update the site yet, but it’s availible by clicking the huge picture on modbuilder.net - just download it and try it out! I hope you’re pleased with the publishing of configurations and custom tweak guides too! :D

There is a features list on the website too. But basiclly, the new awesome features are Tweak Guides and publishing. There are still a couple of bugs, so please contact me on twitter or by email and I’ll fix them!

I’m sorry I’m not writing anything advanced or awesome, but I’m tired, it’s half past 12 in the middle of the night and I’m at a friends house sorting out DDR1-ram memory… So yeah. But you have a video to watch!

I would post a blog update today…

…with a video of me programming the Guided Tweaking Interface, but no. Since my Sony Vegas 11 ain’t working properly enough, I can’t. ModBuilder BF3 Configurator is coming along nicely however, so don’t you worry about a thing – na na nah!

I’m really tired right now and talking on skype with majr0z, so I’m just gonna sum up what happened today:

Woke up, 6.30 AM, put some food into my mouth, chewed it slowly. Finished up breakfast, brushed my teeth and sat down in the car, together with my dad. We went to his work, he works as a music teacher if you did not already now, made a concert with his students and it was AWESOME. Afterwards, lunch at some weird place, fixing stuff up and going back home again – to do programming.

I programmed for about 2 hours straight while recording it, fixing the Tweak Guide Editor, which is now 100% completed. I also tried a bunch of new error messages and such, and everything went smoothly. I’m impressed. Fixed another bug with the auth system which now should work better (once the new version is released). I’ve also started with the actual Tweak Guide, but it ain’t finished yet. This was a short and not so inspiring blog post, but I hope you have something to read at least!

I’ll spend tomorrow with fixing Christmas presents and stuff (yeah one day before the eve, but whatever – at least they’re all bought already! Just need to pack ‘em in.), so I’ll probably not have time over for programming by then, but if you’re lucky, you might have a prerelease or a public alpha upcoming in the next few days, just sit tight!

Oh my! Today I’ve been fixing a bunch of bugs in the ModBuilder BF3 Configurator Interface, especially one which made some variables not show up correctly. Additionally, I’ve also been working with the Guided Tweaking Interface. You can see a picture above, showing the Editor for it – however it’s not programmed yet. (more…)

ModBuilder BF3 Configurator Pre-Release

Hell yeah! Over at my modbuilder website you can check out the features list for ModBuilder BF3 Configurator.

Why remake something that already exists? – Well yeah, I started working on this software long before i noticed the BF3 Config Utility by MindWeaver, and when I noticed it, I thought “hey, why not make MY software compatible with his software?” And so I did. This software is a 100% compatible with it, using the same profile system and even has functions to repair faulty profiles.

The goal of this software is to combine small and powerful in a single software. It’s supposed to work while you’re just sitting back and enjoying the ride. I’m pretty much very far from that goal right now (I’m sorry), but all the basic functions are there, like editing, saving/loading from and to profiles, exporting and importing to both files and clipboard, as well as a bunch of neat editing tools customizable for every item.

In the very last day of developing I also added protocol support. This means, basiclly, that you can – using the protocol support – edit the variables of your Battlefield 3 Configuration file and the software. For example, if you have the software installed and a key for it, press here to remove motion blur! Clicking the link will open a ModBuilder BF3 Configurator-window that asks if you want to apply the changes, if you press Yes it will remove motion blur! :)

There will indeed be a lot of new features for it coming along the way, both on the Protocol support and the software itself. One of the features I’m developing right now is the Guided Tweaking System (where users create guided tweaks by themselves and share with others), that makes it a lot easier to tweak and explain different matters and impacts depending on what you do. Some that is also worth mentioning is the Tweak-Bot that detects faulty configs, errors, or just warns you for different settings that may do bad impact. However, it requires a lot of work looking everything up – and I haven’t had that yet.

If you’re interested in tweaking, programming, clangaming or whatever – and want to help out, please do not hesitate to contact me! :)

I’ll post a video sometime during the holidays to tease you with new functions etc, keep tight on my twitter and the modbuildernet twitter!
